Overview

After graduating with a Marketing Degree in 2007 before Digital Marketing was even on the agenda!, I fell into the world of PPC in my first role at Bigmouthmedia; eventually to become part of Digitas & Publicis Media


From here I learned the basics of Paid Search; managing multiple clients and understanding how to plan out and implement an optimisation strategy. Over time my client base and budgets grew, till eventually I was part of the team managing the British Airways account; overall responsible for running the EURAF, APAC, and then the USA account; targeting over 180 countries & multiple languages.


It was here that I really developed my skill set; being responsible for multi million budgets & having to hit a target ROI which I'd forecast utilising historic data, benchmark data, & about 20 different excel formulas. Really getting into the detail of this and understanding how to expand at scale whilst hitting the target saw me reach the next level of strategy that took years to develop.


After British Airways, I got a reputation as a travel PPC specialist, with additional travel brands including Starwood, Marriott, Aer Lingus, Etihad, Virgin, Carlson Rezidor, Belmond all benefiting from my experience. Outside of Travel, I worked alongside other clients and industries including the BBC, Standard Life, Cisco, Under Armour, Bupa Global, & DHL; a true cross-reference of industries.


My passion for search has led me to become a strategist in understanding Digital Marketing from a Paid perspective; It's not enough to just setup keywords & ads and let them run, but it's knowing why they're working, what isn't working, and what other people are doing. I'm constantly looking at ways to grow accounts & have benefited from a close relationship with a number of suppliers including Google, Marin, Kenshoo, Yandex, & ResponseTap to help look at trends & developments to take accounts to the next level.


I love passing on my knowledge to others; certainly if Skype, Slack & Microsoft Teams messages are anything to go by, I'm constantly on calls & screen sharing to help someone understand an excel formula, or a little hack in AdWords (The day after discovered Auction Insights Segmentation was spent building an excel builder to understand annual trends & forecasting budgets). I've developed my presentation skills over time, with being comfortable presenting insights & strategies to multiple stakeholders, explaining industry information, & helping to develop then next generation of marketeers in getting them to understand the bigger picture.
